Celebrity inspired looks:
Rachel Bilson, Gisele Bundchen (balayage: natural looking highlights that blends to your hair color with a gradation effect)
Drew Barrymore, Ashlee Simpson (ombre: gradation with 2-tone dip dye effect)
4 reasons why you should try these amazing looks:
+super hot hair trends (you have probably seen them in lots of celebrities, bloggers, fashionistas, models, etc…)
+low maintanance (no need to touch up the roots every month)
+fashionable
+works for any type of hair/ hairstyle (long, short, curly, straight, blonds, brunettes, etc…)
I love both the balayage and the ombre hairstyles, but I decided to go for the balayage look. I got my hair done last weekend and I really love the results! It came out really pretty on my black hair! 😉
I found Holly Jones on Yelp. She’s amazing and an expert in balayage (make sure you choose the right professional to do your hair). Her salon is located in the heart of Venice, CA. Click here to check the reviews.
Process: Holly tied my hair into ponytails right before bleaching them (her special technique).
I think the whole process took about 1 hour.
Cost: $90 (plus tip)
Before:
My natural hair color: black. Boring.. I haven’t colored my hair for 4 years!!
After:
♥ Balayage. Love it! ♡
Maintain: I bought a shampoo & conditioner for chemically treated hair at Holly’s salon. My hair feels really soft after using the products she recommended:
Shampoo: Melu (davines)/ Conditioner: vegetarian miracle (davines)
And I also use the One ‘n Only Argan Oil before and after blow drying my hair. Holly recommended this: Moroccanoil at folica.com
I love how my new hair! But I want to get the ends even lighter like Rachel Bilson’s hair. So I’m going back to see Holly next month and I will update this post with some more pictures! Stay tuned~
If you are in the Los Angeles area you should def go see Holly Jones for balayage/ ombre. Here’s the info:

I’m still undecided about this trend!! Haha, but your hair looks cute! I made a promise to myself years ago that I would never ever ever dye my hair again (I used to have hot pink in my hair haha). So I would never do it only because of that promise but it looks fun versus just dying your hair all one color.
❤ Tinna
aww thanks Tinna.
you can break your promise if you don’t dye your hair pink again! kkkk how about a nice ombre hair?

I love how your hair looks! I’m planning to get a balayage as well. Did you have to have the hair near the roots colored too?
I’ll ask Nina when I see her tonight! 🙂
❤ Tinna
Nina says her roots weren’t dyed..hope that helps 🙂

hi Lauren,
sorry for the late reply.
Tinna is right, Holly did not bleach my roots at all. Just the tips! Let me know if you have any more questions!
