Picked up a couple things today that I’m really excited about! One of them is the Juju Cosmetics Aquamoist Hyarulonic Acid Moisturizing Cleansing Oil.
There was a Japanese market by the restaurant we went to for lunch so we stopped by and of course I had to check out the beauty section. After trying to figure out what everything was, I was excited to find a cleansing oil! I’ve been researching them because I want a heavy-duty makeup remover for the foundation I’ve been wearing. There were a few choices but I picked Juju Cosmetics Aquamoist Hyarulonic Acid Moisturizing Cleansing Oil ($15.99 but cheaper online). I chose this one over the others because it had olive oil which I’m told is a great makeup/sunscreen remover.
I just used it about 20 minutes ago as the second step of my nighttime routine after removing my eye makeup. It really did remove all of my foundation and makeup! You know how I know? Because after I washed my face with Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple, I ran a cotton ball with Crealine H20 makeup remover all over my face and there was not a trace of makeup. Amazing right!
How I used it: I pumped some oil into my hands and then rubbed them together. I massaged it into my face and under my chins/jaws. I then rinsed it off with water. I followed this with washing my face with Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple. Note to self- make sure I did it correctly! 😛
First impressions: It doesn’t feel really oily, more water-y. It has a fresh citrus scent that I liked. I couldn’t necessarily feel my makeup being removed but was thoroughly impressed when I verified that all the makeup had been taken off. My skin has been a little dry lately and this didn’t contribute to any dryness which is great.
Ingredients: (this was taken off the market’s english label so I cannot attest to its accuracy) Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Mineral Oil, PEG-12 Laurate, Polysorbate 85, Polyglycerol-2 Oleate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Peg-6 Sorbitan Oleate, Water, Octyldodecanol, Fragrance, BHT, Glycerin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Tocopherol, Sodium Hyaluronate.
I need time to see if there are negative affects on my skin but I’m very excited about its makeup removing powers. Just yesterday I was doing some online shopping and was considering purchasing Shu Uemera, Laura Mercier or MAC cleansing oil. I think the Aquamoist is a good start and I’ll delve into higher end cleansing oils when I’m finished with the Aquamoist.
If you think the idea of putting oil on your face is crazy, do some google research about cleansing oils. I was a skeptic but now a believer!
